Description

I don't think anyone will find this record in this condition on US soil anytime soon. TOP TOP COPY!
This is the original UK issue with the original inner with lyrics (discontinued after Lennon's death) with the much sought after first press stamper 1U.  This is widely known as the very best version of the very best Lennon solo album.
The cover is in the original shrink even though it has split in a couple places, the shrink has done it's job in protecting the cover nicely.  The original UK presses are on laminated light paper stock that never ages well, so in this case the shrink wrap is a plus.  2 of the 4 corners have very light wear.  The edge along the opening is a little wavy from top to bottom and there is some ringwear as is normal on these flimsy UK covers.  On the back, by the opening, there is a 1/2" by 1/8" spot where the lamination peeled back but this is very minor but all of these imperfections made me grade this at VG++, only the die hard NM freaks will care and I think this might even please some of them too.
I can show you pictures of any of the imperfections if you want, just email me with your email address.
The record itself will please anyone including die hard audiophiles not only because it is a true first press with the 1U STAMP but also because it is flawless.  The record looks brand new and NM all day long.  I did also place the record in a new japanese style inner sleeve for protection.  Even the labels look perfect, no marks at all.

Paypal is easiest payment method but not always preferred, so please check with me first if you want to arrange other payment.
I have some other records listed, some rare, some sealed, all are fantastic.  I will combine shipping so check them out.
I always ship records in new outer sleeves, inside sturdy Lp mailers with plenty of bubble wrap or other padding and try to ship within 2 business days.
If you have any questions please don't hesitate to ask and I will do my best to respond ASAP.
I always take a bunch of pictures so if you want to see more send me your email address and I will get them to you.
Please check my feedback and bid with confidence!

This is the Grading Scale I am using:

Mint [M], or Still Sealed [SS]: Only sealed records will be deemed "Mint".

Near Mint [NM]: The record shows no obvious sign of wear, appearing unplayed. An LP jacket has no creases, folds, seam splits or any other noticeable similar defect. No cut-out holes, either. Basically, Near Mint looks as if you just got it home from a new record store and removed the shrink wrap.

*Near Mint Minus [NM-], and [VG++]: Same as above, yet shows only faint paper scuffs on the surface only. No noise from scuffs will be heard. VG++ is for an LP with only a medium amount of paper scuffs, still no effect on play.

Very Good Plus [VG+]: Shows some signs that it was played and otherwise handled by a previous owner who took good care of it. Record surfaces may show some slight signs of wear and may have slight scuffs or very light scratches that don't affect one's listening experience. Slight warps that do not affect the sound are OK yet will be noted. An LP jacket my have slight signs of wear also and may be marred by a cut-out hole, indentation or corner indicating it was taken out of print and sold at a discount. In general, if not for a couple of minor things wrong with it, this would be Near Mint. All but the most mint-crazy collectors will find a Very Good Plus record highly acceptable.

Very Good [VG]: Many of the defects found in a VG+ record are more pronounced in a VG disc. Surface noise is evident upon playing, especially in soft passages and during the song's intro and fade, but will not overpower the music otherwise. Groove wear will start to be noticeable, as will light scratches deep enough to feel with a fingernail) that will affect the sound. Labels may be marred by writing, or have tape or stickers (or their residue) attached. The same will be true of picture sleeves or LP covers. However, it will not have all of these problems at the same time, only two or three of them.

Good [G], Good Plus [G+]: My lowest level, I do not list below this level unless exceptionally rare: A record in Good or Good Plus condition can be put onto a turntable and will play through without skipping. But it will have significant surface noise and scratches and visible groove wear. A jacket or sleeve has seam splits, especially at the bottom or on the spine. Tape, writing, ring wear or other defects will start to overwhelm the object.

Poor [P], Fair [F]: I do not list records in this catergory with skips, cracks and/or noise that prevents the enjoyment of the music.
