WOW, THIS VERY RARE VINTAGE SPORTS MEMORABILIA ALBUM WILL BE AN AWESOME HOLIDAY GIFT FOR ONE WHO IS A FAN OF IOWA HAWKEYE FOOTBALL!
This is a rare vintage LP album (MONO) that features actual sounds and voices of big moments in Iowa Football. Entitled "Hooray for the Hawkeyes" this album includes the MONO vinyl LP with amazing sounds and voices sure to please the true Hawkeye Fan. The narrator is famed NFL historian Dick Lamb of Davenport. Iowa. Teams featured include 1953, 1956, 1957, 1958 and 1959 with the majority portion of the record includes the Rose Bowl years of 1956 and 1958. The record also includes two recordings in 1939 by Hawkeye great Nile Kinnick who won that years Heisman Trophy. The vinyl produces great mono sound throughout as if you were listening back then. Voices are heard from Lindsay Nelson, Red Grange, Coach Forest Evashevski, Frank Leahy, Alex Karras among others. The "Iowa Chant" is sung by the University of Iowa Mens' Chorus in the records conclusion.
The vinyl rates a solid EX as to conidtion (Goldmine standards). The originals onion skin inner sleeve is included as well as a new generic inner sleeve. The outer jacket is in nice condition overall with a 3" seam split at bottom right where record is inserted. The upper right corner is softened. The cover art features a photo of Bob Jeter breaking loose in the 1959 Rose Bowl fame in which the Hawkeyes romped over California 38-12. This jacket rates an overall VG+ as to condition and would be a eat candidate to from for one so inclined.
