Authentic signed 8.00” x 12.00” FOLSOM PRISON BLUES vintage song sheet page, personally autographed by the late country music legend JOHNNY CASH who sadly died in September, 2003. Just right for framing (not included), the auction winner will receive the exact item shown here. Please keep in mind, most items look better in person than any Ebay scan can really show. The overall item is in very good condition.
Although primarily remembered as a country music icon, the songs and sound of Johnny Cash spanned many other genres including ‘rock ‘n’ roll’ and rockabilly - especially early in his career – as well as blues, folk, and gospel. This crossover appeal won Johnny Cash the rare honour of induction in the Country Music Hall of Fame, the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, and the Gospel Music Hall of Fame. He was known for his deep, distinctive voice, rebelliousness, coupled with an increasingly sombre and humble demeanour; for providing free concerts inside prison walls; and for his dark performance clothing, which earned him the nickname "The Man in Black". He traditionally began his concerts with the phrase "Hello, I'm Johnny Cash…" Johnny Cash died on September 12, 2003 - less than four months after his wife, June Carter Cash.
