Originally released in 2011, Blood Lust would serve as the second album from Cambridge modern psych/stoner-doomers Uncle Acid & The Deadbeats. As mastermind and sole original member Kevin Starrs began crafting material under the moniker in the early 2000's, uploading tracks to MySpace and YouTube, a digital cultlike following led to the super limited distribution of the project's first album Volume I via approximately 30 CD-R copies, and with the money made from those sales, a little more time, finesse and better equipment would go into crafting their much more cohesive sophomore effort. Recorded in a friend's garage and initially released as a run of 100 CD-R copies, the retro-fuzz doom-rock oozing with Black Sabbath indebted swagger and psychedelic 70s atmosphere, would eventually catch the attention of Rise Above Records, who would reissue these first two albums on vinyl, CD and cassette, while the band has made it their label-home ever since.
