You will struggle to find a better condition copy of this classic release anywhere again! It`s the famous FIRST edition of the FIRST edition. That means for those not in the know that when you open the sleeve up, the song titles are upside down (see scan). Bet your copy isn`t like this, it`s far more likely that the song titles of the later pressings are not upside down or have different letterings where corrected. The group picture on the inner side of the poster has the word “UNDERTONES†printed on the top right corner. Later copies miss this detail on the main poster. This is the original WHITE folder sleeve. There were various other colours of jackets, but these white sleeves and a few Pink ones were the ones to track down for the collectors with these differences to the later issues. The “Teenage Kicks†EP includes the extremely powerful non-LP track “Smarter Than U†which will knock your head off. You can also listen to the all-time classics “True Confessions†and “Emergency Casesâ€. It is difficult quite frankly to think of another E.P. from this or for that matter any other time that has four total winners...any of them could have been the title track although undisputedly, the appetizer remains the true title holder!!! UNDERTONES 1st 7†was pressed on Belfast’s finest punk & powerpop label “Good Vibrations†records in 1978 (catalogue number GOT 4). Again, sleeve and vinyl of this FIRST PRESSING are in fantastic condition. The great John Peel was known for spotting talent when he heard it...but even my Granny would have backed a true winner here...it`s infectious and can be listened to one hundred times and you still beg for more!!!! Your collection of Punk records will be that much richer for this addition.....Bid High, Bid well, Bid early, get lucky!
