Description
RARE example of Undertones' debut single on Sire label - in original black and white PICTURE SLEEVE.
Most copies you'll see advertised here on eBay and on other sites like Discogs come with the standard Sire paper sleeve - and still fetch around £15.
This example is from my own personal collection and was bought by me within the first week or so of being released in 1978.
Semi-matt picture sleeve is in very good+ condition with slight edge wear/creasing around the edges and slight ring wear - all consistent with a record of this age that has been handled and played with what I would describe as reasonable (and loving) care. No dings, dents, splits or other wear and tear/damage.
Classic Sire paper labels are in excellent/near-mint condition. "Originally released on Good Vibrations Records GOT 4" printed in capital letters (slightly smaller on the B side) just to the left and below the Sire logo.
Vinyl in very good+ condition with a few light surface marks consistent with pulling in and out of sleeve/playing on decent hi-fi separates system. Both sides still play really well with no background hiss or clicks etc.
A real authentic punk/rock'n'roll must-have for anyone of a certain vintage who wants to replace a missing/lost/stolen copy or a newer fan with a gap in their collection.
