UNIQUE BEATLES RUBBER SOUL MONO PMC 1267 579-1 580-1 LOUD CUT 1ST PRESSING

This auction is for an LP record

 By-The Beatles

Titled-RUBBER SOUL

Label-Parlophone

Catalogue-PMC 1267

MONO

Featuring

''THE GRAMOPHONE CO LTD'' rim text

matrix numbers XEX 579-1 XEX 580-1

 ''Sold in UK''

''Gramophone Co Ltd'' text perimeter

Laminate front Garrod and Lofthouse flipback sleeve.

This is a very unusual example of the ''LOUD CUT'' pressing. There are transitional pressing of this with different matrix numbers -1 -4. But this is the original Loud Cut pressing with -1 -1 matrix numbers, but this particualr copy has transitional labels, with ''San Serif'' label text side 1, and ''Times New Roman'' label text side 2. I have been unable to find any examples of this, so must be somewhat scarce.

Please note that all records are visually graded unless otherwise stated

Records are graded using the Rare Record Price Guide grading system

Record-EX/EX+ (Excellent/Excellent Plus)
This is a great example that has been very well preserved, there are some spindle marks but the labels are generally well presented and clean. The playing surface has retained a deep glossy bright shine. There are a few slight surface marks nothing heavy or feelable, with a couple of very faint light non feelable marks/light hairlines and minimal inner sleeve removal marks, noticed. Side 1 grades EX+ , side 2 grades EX and is again well preserved but not as good as side 1, there is a small only just feelable hairline running through the final two tracks, only just feelable on ''If I needed someone''. I have listened to these two tracks and I couldnt detect to much of an issue, just an occasional, intermitent, light tick in quieter passages, but not noticed during busier parts of the tracks, so mercifully not causing too much of an issue, audible, a cople of other non feelable short marks noticed but still Excellent. A very nice, clean example.
This record has been stored unplayed for over 20 years, as such, I suggest a good clean/professional clean as a matter of course to enhance the audio further.

Sleeve-EX/EX+ (Excellent/Excellent Plus)
A fantastic example. The front is clean and bright with only light marks just noticed, a couple of slight laminate handling marks but generally Excellent. The edges and corners are well preserved with a bright legible spine area. The reverse is equally well preserved some of the lightest marks to the central panel, with a faint small stain effecting the lower edge area, and very lightly top edge area, with some minimal handling creases to the flip backs and opening edge, with some mild toning showing in places. A Excellent example generally.
