UNIQUE RARE 1969 FULL BOX OF NRMT 20 45 RPMS FROM 1430 CKFH RADIO FOSTER HEWITT. In 1951 Foster Hewitt, legendary broadcaster of the Toronto Maple Leafs, created radio station 1400 CKFH-AM in Toronto. The station was located in Maple Leafs Gardens and, later, moved to bandwith 1430. The station was sold in 1980. For many years when I was younger, the station played popular chart hits music. Now this auction is for a box of records I recently found that belonged to a friend of mine. As you can see, the box postal mark is dated January 23, 1969. The box consists of 20 45 rpm records that were sent by the station to her for 50 cents postage (wouldn't it be nice to have those postage rates again). The box is intact and even has the original cardboard divider. The records have their original sleeves and would appear to have been never played and appear to me beautiful (as I'm no record expert, I can say very fine or mint but they are extremely nice). Almost all have their proper company sleeves with a couple with other sleeves that I suppose CKFH had lying around when mailing the records. I expect the record box was put in attic storage and never left. What I don't know is if CKFH mailed these out to some kind of contest winners or for some other reason.
