SETTLE IN FOR A LONG RUN OF COLLECTABLE LPs OF VARIOUS MUSICAL STYLES!! This is a reasonably priced ORIGINAL 1968 U.S. PRESS COLUMBIA RECORDS MONO WHITE LABEL PROMO COPY of the 1968 self-titled LP from psychsters The United States Of America. It is Columbia Records catalog number CS 9614, mono white label promo with a sticker to that effect at the top left corner of the front cover and a radio station timing strip across the bottom of the front cover - The record labels and the radio station timing strip each bear one additional inscription which does not appear in my accompanying image. This album was only issued in mono as a white label promo, there are no retail mono copies. Personnel: Joseph Byrd-electronic music, electric harpsichord, organ, calliope, piano / Dorothy Moskowitz-lead singer / Gordon Marron-electric violin, ring modulator / Rand Forbes-electric bass / Craig Woodson-electric drums, percussion / Ed Bogas-occasional organ, piano, calliope. Tracks: The Electric Metaphysical Circus, Hard Coming Love, Cloud Song, The Garden Of Earthly Delights, I Won't Leave My Wooden Wife For You Sugar, Where Is Yesterday, Coming Down, Love Song For The Dead Che, Stranded In Time, The American Way Of Love: Part I - Metaphor For An Olderman / Part II - California Good-Time Music / Part III - Love Is All. Visual condition of record is VG+ with some surface marks which cannot be felt and do not affect play. Condition of cover is VG- with an 8" split in the spine and a 4" split in the left side of the top edge (I have carefully and neatly repaired these splits by taping from the inside) - The top layer of paper is completely worn away along the top 8" of the spine and flaked for the bottom 4". Cover also has a small rough area near the top right corner of the front cover where a small sticker has previously been removed, a little writing on the back cover in light blue and black ink, some ring and contact wear, and a fair amount of general wear along the edges and on the corners. Cover has no tears or stickers. This rare mono white label promo would be a choice addition to any late 1960s psychedelic record collection!
