Description
Double-sided 7” acetate with Audiodisc labels. One side is labeled “#2” and there is some faint hand writing which is no longer readable on same label. Both sides smoke! On one side the song repeats the phrase “D Double right now” or maybe “the double” but I could not find any info. Unique-sounding almost funk groove with great LOUD guitar playing. Solid singing and backing vocals.” The flip is a very hip, upbeat rhythm and blues groove with sweet call-and-answer harmonies ala The Impressions. Great guitar playing. These guys KILL this tune. A very Chicago-sounding record with an Impressions-influence –in particularly Curtis Mayfield’s guitar playing and harmony singing, on this track. Has a slight demo-like quality with one of the singers laughing at different points. Record grades VG- condition with numerous marks, but I would say it plays better. Listen to sound clip to judge.
