VERY LIMITED and now out of print vinyl edition cast in gold and platinum for the entire movie soundtrack, which, according to the company, are the “first-ever commercially available records made using these precious metals via this process.”

The limited edition piece, come encased in laser-cut wooden LP jackets, held together by riveted aluminum spines.

Among the artists featured on this soundtrack, which mixes new songs with covers, are an impressive cast including Jack White, Florence + The Machine, Emeli Sande, and Beyoncé, along with Bryan Ferry and his orchestra performing the Roxy Music classic, “Love is the Drug.”

To revitalize the art form of vinyl records, musician Jack White and his Third Man Records created a special LP set for the soundtrack to Baz Luhrmann’s The Great Gatsby film starring Leo DiCaprio.

To complement the glitz and glamor portrayed in the film, Third Man Records went about to form the records in metallized discs, with Disc One in platinum and Disc Two in gold. To further the film’s design theme, artisans laser-cut its Art Deco motif onto the wooden LP jacket. Held together by aluminum spines, the sleeves and records feature elements of gold, platinum, aluminum, wood, and brass – effectively a retelling of The Great Gatsby in physical forms.
