We mail all paid items ONE WEEK after auctions end. Please keep in mind our listings are time consuming in detail and we are often traveling to find these gems, which at times delays the delivery schedule by a day or two. We have no control over parcels once they are mailed from our local Post Office.Overseas mail to some countries (Italy, Russia, France, in particular) has become very slow. Opening a dispute for slow mail is unacceptable and will result in blocking the bidder. We work hard to provide excellent service as is represented by our 8000 plus positive feedback.   We use a VPI machine and thoroughly clean all records. Each order is carefully packaged by removing the LP from the jacket to avoid seam splits, use of 3 ml plastic cover sleeves over each LP and jacket, cardboard pad inserts, and placed in sturdy record mailers for safe delivery.   We take Customer Service seriously, and want you to be satisfied. Here, an extremely scarce European or possibly British issue, released in micro quantity ages before the overwelming flood of Syd Barrett interests...issued back in the days of Syds' limited cult hero status ...

It's a fact, this issue was the very first release of unissued studio practice sessions that did not make the final cut for either of the legendary Syd Barrett albums, released at the dawn of 1970....

The kaleidoscopic rise of Syd Barrett was shattered by his fragile state of mind amid an unhealthy appetite for hallucinogens. Clash traces the life behind the myths of P|nk F|oyd’s cosmic founder.

With dark curls, deep-set brown eyes and a mirrored Fender Telecaster, Syd Barrett epitomised the burgeoning psychedelic scene that emerged as Swinging London dropped a tab and weaved flowers into its hair.

Something happened on P|nk F|oyd's very first American tour in the autumn of ’67... Syd suddenly didn’t want to go out and play the same songs every night. He was getting unhappy.
During the US tour Syd walked out of a talk show, and refused to move his lips as the band prepared to mime on American Bandstand. Within days, the tour was abandoned. After America it seemed the ground beneath the F|oyd was opening - with Syd on one side of the crack and the rest on the other.

By 1969 Syd was back in the studio to record a clutch of new songs for Malcolm Jones’ Harvest label. Things started well, with the studio giving him focus. But with a heady cocktail of acid and mandrax buzzing around him, trouble was on the horizon. Dave Gilmour was brought in to help Syd and producer Jones get something on tape amid all the madness.

The Madcap Laughs’ spent time in the UK Top 40 after release in 1970 and received good reviews. Plans for a follow-up LP were soon announced, with Barrett telling the New Musical Express he was going to get a band together. However, sessions for ‘Barrett’, also produced by Gilmour, were fraught. Syd was fast losing interest in his music, becoming increasingly reclusive, with the mandrax shooting his memory to bits.

Here is the very first European release of the 1970 practice session demos - issued long long before all the Syd Barrett fan-fare back when Syd was wandering the roads of London completely unnoticed....

CONDITION: The cover: VERY fragile UK glossy paper sleeve is still in "EX" (excellent) condition and that is pretty special when realizes the fragility of said issue ...light handling  visuals are the only issue, nothing alarming, no split seams, no bends, no writing ...looks as it did when first issued 30+ years ago.... 

The vinyl: UNPLAYED ...basically put upon a top shelf and left untouched...stone MINT.
