U. P. Wilson - 'On My Way' Red Lightnin Records RL0078 UK pressing 1988
For those of you that love good blues electric guitar..in the vein of Freddie King, Stevie Ray, Albert King, Albert Collins or the like...this is one album and artist you have to know and own. Virtually unknown in many parts, he is/was a Texas guitar legend, and as such was named a Texas Guitar Tornado by the music mag, Buddy. Even Stevie Ray named him as an important influence. I was turned on to him by legendary Texas guitarist Sumter Bruton,(one of Texas' current best blues guitarist), and owner of Record Town in Ft Worth,TX. Of historical note is Sumter's late brother Stephen,another legendary guitarist, is who teamed up to write the music with T-Bone Burnett, for the movie Crazy Heart ,which won the grammy...along with playing with many notable artists through the years...anyway,these Bruton's know their guitar stuff. This album blew me away and I just recently came across this 2nd copy,which I'm offering here. If you want some searing,ripping, cut your heart out Texas guitar work, this is it. Plus this copy is in fantastic condition. Another album that if I didnt have another, would never, ever ,ever, make it here to ebay. Labels and vinyl are awesome...looks rarely played. Cover excellent with intact seams and spine...could be mint minus but will go "excellent" by conservative standards.
