This is from my personal collection! This album has barely ever been played more that a handful of times ever., anmd the condition of this album reflects this! The cover has always been stored in a case, seperated from the vinyl and sleeve for protection for over 35 years! This is how I have always stored my records!!!  Please note, , I have many copies of all of the earliest UK Uriah Heep albums and most of the different variations that I know of.  I have owned this album for at least 25 years! This is the mega early and the rarest to ever find especially in this condition, with the track credits on the labels very few were pressed (normally seen without) This vinyl was pressed from the 1st\earliest master, hence #1#1 matrix endings, hence 1st press, with 2nd issued label variation with the original 'large swirl' logo (with track credits on the labels! (rarely seen and the most scarce to ever find, impossible in this virtually unplayed condition!)  This early pressing is rare in any condition to find.  To find these pressings with the earliest stampers #1 #1 like this!! And it is complete with the original swirl sleeve!!Absolutely as near  perfect mint audio quality on my systems, this plays almost as good as new in my opinion without any distortion or grooveware (no) clicks or pops in fact almost silent in between tracks, the seperation is truly awesome throughout and a real rich and deep bassey feel!

The original vertigo 1st issue gatefold is in truly exceptional condition also, one of the best copies that I have seen! (normally seen with nasty ware and creases that seem enhanced by the dark brown type cover, not this one it is absolutely superbe very very rare to find after 40 years!!

Very 'eavy... Very 'umble is the debut album of British hard rock band Uriah Heep. It was released in the United States as Uriah Heep with alternate sleeve artwork, and with "Bird of Prey" in place of "Lucy Blues."

The album was generally panned by the mainstream critical press upon its release, although it has since been acknowledged as an early classic of the heavy metal genre. The most famous criticism came from Rolling Stone magazine reviewer Melissa Mills, who began her review, "If this group makes it I'll have to commit suicide. From the first note you know you don't want to hear any more."

The original vinyl release was a gatefold-sleeve, featuring David Byron on the front sleeve, almost unrecognisable beneath the cobwebs - a poignant image since his death in 1985.

The album was first released on the Vertigo label in the UK, as was the follow-up Salisbury (album), but both were quickly reissued by Bronze when the band signed to that label!!!. Please note! These original 1st pressings are very sought after and extreemely scarce to find!!!!

The vinyl

This is the original thicker and heavier type of vinyl only found on the earliest pressings! THIS LAYS PERFECTLY FLAT ON THE TURNTABLE!!!On initial Visual inspection it is hard to see a blemish at all!, Any marks that could possibly be seen when angled in strong light would be whispy sleeve removal only. I can't see any deep needle scratches or any audio sounding marks at all!. It is quite obvious to me that this vinyl looks barely ever played at all!

The Audio quality

I have carefuly played this vinyl through track for track three times prior to listing on a top system at very loud volume! The audio plays cristal clear and very very vibrant with (no) signs of any grooveware or signs that this has been overplayed! (Quite unbeleivable to find like this) This vinyl plays  as good as it gets all the way through and there was amaizingly nothing in my opinion that spoilt the overall enjoyment of this awesome sounding album!! I heard (no) loud clicks or pops during the audio at all, as good as it gets in my opinion! One of the best that I have heard! Astounding quality! AN AWESOME SOUNDING ALBUM ON ALL FREQUENCIES!! Even in between tracks is almost silent,, unbeleivably rare like this! Please note! Any who know the records that I list would know that i am highly critical about the audio quality it is my main concern! THIS PLAYS TRULY AWESOME IN MY OPINION ! EARLY 1ST UK PRESS PRODUCE THE BEST AUDIO POSSIBLE!!!This audio plays at least excellent plus to very near perfect on my systems as good as it gets in my opinion! stunnig seperation and real deep bassey feel,,,even in between tracks is unbeleivably quiet!!!  

The Labels

These are the original vertigo swirl labels (only 1st uk press) in superbe condition! Amaizingy   just barely a handful of spidering (These can even be counted) Little if (no) spindleware,  the hole is perfectly round!

The Record Sleeve

This is the original Vertigo Swirl Sleeve with amaizingly no side end splits! This becoming fragile with age with light general staining \fading with age only! This is the original!!!

The 1st issue gatefold cover!

This is the original TOP OPENING 1ST UK PRESS VERTIGO GATEFOLD COVER LAMINATED FRONT!! (CORRECT FOR THIS PRESS) This is strong and straight with (no) splits or tares !! There is NO main creasings to the laminate, just minor edge line type creases only.   Fully laminated front still retains its gloss with just very  light rubbing only can be seen angled to the light only! In general this is an exceptional example of a rare 38 year old original!!!!! (no) nasty names written anywhere!! Rare to find example!!This is conservativly graded at least excellent plus in my opinion! very, very hard to find like this!
