URIAH HEEP Demons And Wizards LP 1st UK 1st 1972 A-1U/B-1U SUPERB
This album is housed in a very thick and un-laminated gatefold cover with superbly designed artwork by Roger Dean. The early presses bear Island Records' catalog number with the 'ILPS' prefix and earliest 1U matrix number. Both sides have the earliest "1" in the 9 O'clock position and the earliest letters located at the 3 O'clock position in the run-out grooves, indicating an extremely low pressing sequence. Later presses bear Bronze Records' own catalog number.

Cover - Very thick and un-laminated gatefold cover with the superb artwork designed by Roger Dean. It's crisp and fresh, feels like it had just been off printing presses.. there is an "as new" feel to it.. perfect spine with crystal-clear prints, perfect top, perfect bottom, perfectly straight and ultra-sharp opening edges.. super sharp and unworn corners.. just one extremely minor crease or two on the cover that I could detect.. please note that the dark "patches" are of the original design.. "Manufactured And Distributed by Island Records Ltd." with the famed "i" logo are printed at the bottom of the rear sleeve.. superb all around.. graded Near Mint to Mint.
Un-laminated gatefold covers are extremely prone to damage, wear and tear, especially after 36 years. It'd be fair to say that it's extremely rare for an un-laminated cover to be in such pristine condition or even to find one in this condition.. coupled with the amazing psychedelic artwork.. literally a truly jaw-dropping experience to view one in this outstanding condition.. you'd have to see it to believe it.. words alone just wouldn't do justice.
Inner gatefold - Pristine condition.. clean, crisp, fresh and undamaged.. just minor and hardly visible rubbing marks.. graded Near Mint to Mint.
Inner Sleeve - Made of thick paper with the lyrics printed on both sides.. dark-blue inner sleeve with the catalog number printed at the bottom right of Page 1.. presence of just one crease and faint record impression.. graded Excellent.
Labels - Pristine condition.. literally flawless.. I had a hard time trying to spot any traces of spindle marks around the hole due to the creamy colour.. crystal-clear prints with "Manufactured And Distributed by Island Records Ltd." with the famed "i" logo printed at the bottom of the labels.. .. graded Near Mint to Mint.
Vinyl - Still retains its deep gloss and shine.. ultra-faint surface playing signs, one small and non-sounding surface scuff on Side A.. graded Near Mint visually. Superb sound quality.. the music comes out loud and clear with just a hint of very soft background statics in very few places.. graded Near Mint to Mint aurally.
