"URIAH HEEP - SALISBURY" RAREST EVER TO FIND, VERTIGO SWIRL! IT IS BELIEVED THAT JUST A COUPLE OF THOUSAND WERE PRESSED ON THIS LABEL! THE ORIGINAL SWIRL INNER SLEEVE IS ALSO STILL THERE .

I'm really not into the heavy rock side of progressive music but I must admit that « Salisbury » is a remarkable album with very bright, touching moments. I consider Uriah Heep (next to Black Widow) as far ahead of British hard rock bands of the 70's. This album makes a rough combination between interludes of progressive wandering (epic keyboards arrangements) and comfortable, conventional heavy rock based passages. "Time to live" is an evident, catching heavy rock tune with an effective, inflexible guitar rhythm section accompanied by the powerful, emotional and screaming David Byron's vocals. "Lady wore black" is one of my all time favourite Uriah Heep composition, really rock with a folk touch and impressive vocals parts. Everything is accomplished with a tremendous energy and a great sense of melody. "The Park" is a ravishing ballad with outstanding, very emotional, sad vocals. A tune that can really give you shivers. This band beats all the 70's and 90's challengers in the progressive hard rock genre, stylistically, emotionally and technically. I highly recommend a listen on this convincing album. (Taken from : "Progarchives (Philipe)" )

Vinyl: VG++ . Stunning deep glossy and heavy vinyl. This has certainly not been overplayed. A beautiful glossy vinyl with just a few wispy hairlines and one longer hairline on side B which is totally in audible on replay. Under a strong light just some wispy retraction paper traces can be seen. These are totally invisible in normal light. I subjected the record to a detailed listen on my high end system and it sounded stunning. Lovely channel separation without any distortion or crackle. A little static mainly on the beginning of each side which is just a normal feature really on most LP's from the era. I would say that this LP is well above average condition and will sit nicely in a quality collection.

Gatefold sleeve: VG++.  Without doubt one of the harder gatefolds to still find intact!! A great matt sleeve with just only the very light storage wear. In most cases the black coloured fields have worn badly. NOT THIS ONE!! It still looks incredible. Only  lightwear on the edges top and bottom. The spine is still 100% legible.  One light crease near the to left, no writing or foxing anywhere. The inside gate is fantastic. NO price stickers or writing. NO tears, NO splits. One small colour fill to the front centre. This has to be seen in the flesh to be properly appreciated. The pictures give you some impression of the quality at hand in this auction.

This is a unique investment opportunity!!! The next prog album to go completely through the roof. Finding this album in any condition at all is nearly impossible so late in the day. Get this while you still can. This value of the album is only going to go one way ... up and up ... until it will be totally unavailable at all for a reasonable price.
