URIAH HEEP - ...very 'eavy...very 'umble

A solid very good condition copy of this 1970 UK very 1st press (identifiable by a lack of song credits on both the side 2 label and the inside of the gatefold sleeve) prog gem with impressive sound quality throughout

Increasingly rare and sought after 1970 UK 1st press prog gem. Very good plus (VG+) condition vinyl retaining a jet black sheen which in normal daylight comes across as being virtually unmarked. Close inspection under a bright light does reveal some very light hairlines and a couple of small and faint scuff marks on either side, however - nothing feelable or below the surface and all appearing to be superficial.  Each label is very good (VG) with all text and the iconic large Vertigo swirl remaining perfectly intact - there are some small and faint spindle trails on each label, however, along with what appears to be some small black biro "fill-in" towards the centre hole on the side 1 label and some non-obvious sporadic age "bubbling" (see photos) on the side 2 label. The iconic, outside laminated original gatefold outer sleeve is in very good plus (VG+) condition with firm and largely unscuffed edges (just a couple of "nicks" on the bottom front-side edge), a firm spine with the spine text remaining just about readable (partially obscured by a few tiny "nicks"), and the corners remaining nicely defined right angles with minimal rubbing. There are a number of 1-2 cm light, surface only laminate creases adjacent and perpendicular to all non-opening edges on both the front and reverse sides, and the odd additional light laminate crease on each of the front and reverse sides. The condition of the inside of the gatefold remains excellent with all text, photos, and colours remaining vibrant and clear.  Very good plus (VG+) sound quality with no skips, repeats, jumps, or distortion, and any background crackle is at a minimum...negligible in fact, and restricted to barely noticeable background crackle during the dead wax run-ins and a couple of the quieter moments. There is some occasional and very mild (you have to listen carefully to identify it) rotational "smudging" during side 1 only just noticeable during a couple of the quieter moments - nothing really - and the only click is a single very mild click towards the beginning of B4 for which I could identify no obvious reason. Overall excellent tone and crystal clear vocals and instrumentation with every track a great listen.  Comes complete with original and very good plus (VG+) condition original poly-lined Vertigo swirl inner sleeve, correctly dated with no side splits or tears - just some creasing at the bottom left corner and some mild age discolouration towards the edges. 

Rare, highly sought after and becoming very difficult to find now - a "must" for any serious progressive rock vinyl collection.

Note that I always insert the vinyl into a new plain white poly-lined inner sleeve in order to protect the original during postage, and separate this from the outer sleeve to prevent seam splits. I use thick cardboard stiffeners and take great care in my packaging to ensure as far as possible that these precious records reach their destination in exactly the same condition as when they leave me.
