Description

This is a rare 1st pressing vinyl LP copy of "Salisbury" by Uriah Heep on the Vertigo label (6360 028) featuring gate fold sleeve, Vertigo “swirl” labels and original Vertigo “swirl” inner bag.

I class the outer gate fold sleeve as "Very Good Plus” There is minimal rub wear to the top edge, bottom edge and spine, which is square and legible with only 1 tiny crease. There is bump wear to all 4 corners. There is some minor mottling and spotting to both outer and inner cover and some very minor creasing. There is some minor, barely visible ring wear to the back cover.

The disc itself I would class as "Very Good Plus" as it retains its lustre but has a few visible scuff marks. There is a strange pattern in the vinyl around parts of the edge of side 1. I was concerned about this so I took the album to a friend who owns a deck to play it through. The patterns had no effect on play. Indeed, the album played through beautifully with only occasional very light crackle and 1 pop during side 1, track 2 (nowhere near the patterns). My friend suggested that these patterns in the vinyl could have been stress imperfections during manufacture. There was no warping to the disc, which laid and spun flat.

I would grade the “swirl” labels as "Excellent Minus". There is no evidence of spindle wear to either and only very light rub marking to both. There is very slight age discolouration to both (see photos).

The original “swirl” anti-static paper sleeve I would grade as "Very Good Minus”. There are some small tears to the centre hole on one side, some age-discolouration and some minor creasing. The album’s serial number has been written on it in pen and there is slight spotting.

 Matrix:            Side 1:             “6360028 1?* 1 420” stamps “1 and 3”

                        Side 2:             “6360028 2?* 1” stamps “1 and 5”

Classifications in accordance with Record Collector Magazine's Record Collector Grading System and are possibly slightly pessimistic compared to some other sellers/collectors.

Sorry International buyers but, due to some bad experiences, I’ve had to upgrade my postage to “International Signed-for”. What can I say?

I'm going to be slowly clearing out my record collection so watch out for later sales and thank you for looking.
