The superstar charity USA For Africa released their compilation "We Are The World" in April 1985 on Columbia Records. It includes the amazing collection of stars pictured on the cover singing the title track but also nine more songs. Bruce Springsteen & The E Street Band, Prince & The Revolution, Tina Turner, Chicago, Steve Perry, Kenny Rogers, Huey Lewis & The News, and The Pointer Sisters all offered up previously unreleased songs for the album. A group of Canadian superstars including Neil Young, Bryan Adams, Gordon Lightfoot, Anne Murray, and Joni Mitchell performed "Tears Are Not Enough" under the name Northern Lights. It only took two weeks for the album to reach No. 1.

This copy of (USA 40043) is from the First Pressing and is in excellent condition. The gatefold cover still has its original Factory Shrink Wrap attached and is in Near Mint condition as is the Inner Credits Sleeve. Please see the pictures but note the photo of the interior gatefold is from another copy. The disc test plays cleanly and is easily VG+ which is as high as I go on vintage vinyl. It was mastered by Bernie Grundman in Hollywood and this copy was pressed at the Columbia Records plant in Pitman, NJ. The Side One dead wax is etched PAL 40043-1B P (T).

In addition to its original packaging, this album will come with a high quality Anti-Static Round Bottom Inner Sleeve to hold the vinyl disc and a sturdy 3 mil. polyethylene Archival Quality Outer Sleeve.

This vintage 12" vinyl album has been sitting upright on a shelf in climate controlled storage for the past 36 years. It has not been played in decades other than a quick test spin for this sale which found no skips or obvious flaws. Like all used records it should be cleaned and wiped with an anti-static brush to minimize the occasional pops that are part of playing vinyl albums. Buyers should note that this is a well-cared for but used record and it will have some minor imperfections.
