USHA UTHUP Usha In Nairobi (EMI KLP 0516) RARE Kenya 1st Pressing MINT-
Very RARE, Kenyan first pressing of Usha Uthup`s "Usha In Nairobi" on EMI Records (1978).
Backed by the Nairobi-based Italo-disco groove of "Fellini Five", with production by Nabil Sansool, Usha covers somewhat standard top ten fare: "Feelings" (Morris Albert), "I Write The Songs" (Barry Manilow), "You`ve Got A Friend" (Carly Simon), Abba`s "Mamma Mia", as well as her own perennial favourite, "Fever".
GRADING:
EX+ COVER with very minor wear. Please see photos for details.
- Original unlaminated Kenyan first-pressing sleeve.
- Minor record imprint on the front and back cover.
- Bent corner at top right.
- Lightest all-round wear to the sleeve.
EX++ RECORD, played a few times at most.
- Play-graded as in uniformly excellent condition, with very fine audio reproduction throughout.
- Superficial background crackle in between tracks and in some quiet passages.
- A few of the lightest hairlines, from sleeve removal only.
- Original EMI Records labels with a single, light spindle line on each label.
- The matrix stamps in the run-off grooves read "Usha - A" and "Usha - B".
- This record is fully certified to be an original, Kenyan first pressing of "Usha In Nairobi" by Usha Uthup, released in 1978.
