You are bidding on this LP by The Ugly Ducklings "Somewhere Outside" LP on York Town records YT 50001 from 1966 White label promo.
Toronto's own bad boys of rock & roll during the 1960s! The gritty hard edged sounds of songs like "Notthin'" "Just in Case You Wonder" were right up there with the best of them, including the Rolling Stones-who's own Mick Jagger acknowledged the fact that the Ugly Ducklings were his favorite Canadian band of the day.
This white label, although considered to be a promo release-it is not! Against popular belief this is the first pressing release. At the time, the York Town label had not yet designed their own logo. Initially, Arc/Yorkville/York Town pressed their own records. In the rush to press this first release by error, some pressings were defective and all were subsequently recalled. Most store owners returned their existing stock. By this point, York Town records had designed their own multi colored label and replaced this first white pressing label. These subsequent re pressings were pressed by Capitol records of Canada. As a result, these original white label pressings have become extremely rare and highly collectable. Keep in mind that ONLY SOME OF THESE WHITE LABEL ALBUMS WERE DEFECTIVE. this copy IS NOT.
The labels on this copy are super clean and crisp. The vinyl retains all it's original gloss. The cover is is absolutely magnificent-almost like the day it came out of the store, except without the shrink wrap. All seams are fully in tact. A gorgeous copy. Crisp colors and no yellowing.
