Description
Dead mint factory sealed original 1968 first pressing of Behold & See on MGM records from the personal collection of the original founding member and bass player Rich Nese. The winner will also receive for FREE a personal autograph from Rich or you may mail in something of your choice like a open record,CD,photo,poster,etc. to be signed by Rich. Some factual Ultimate Spinach history.. Rich was a founding member and the ONLY bass player on the first self titled record (spinach leaf cover) and the second record Behold & See. The band imploded shortly after Behold & See was recorded due to constant conflict and infighting with the lead singer (they were just kids !). The producer was forced to put together a 100% completely different band lineup under the Ultimate Spinach banner for the third self titled record (Butterfly cover / Jeff Skunk Baxter) to fulfill a contractual obligation to MGM Records. Ultimate Spinach was formed right here on Cape Cod,MA and rehearsed right on Main Street in Osterville in Rich's family's guest cottage in the back of the ARCO station (now HESS & Dunkin Donuts) and they eventually moved to Boston and were regulars at The Boston Tea Party, Unicorn Coffee House,Fillmore,Winterland,colleges,etc.. and toured the US opening for some of the biggest and best names of the late 1960's including Big Brother & The Holding Company,Jefferson Airplane,Paul Butterfield,Canned Heat,Country Joe & The Fish,Richie Havens,etc.. just to name a few. More Ultimate Spinach signed LP's,CD's,merchandise,photos,memorabilia will be listed soon.. This is the O*N**L*Y place you will find genuine ULTIMATE SPINACH signed merchandise. Keith Lahteninen, the original drummer for Spinach and J Geils and Rich's pre-Spinach band mate, recently passed away and the rest of the members do not do signings.
