Description
This is the Capitol Records release of The Beatles album, Meet The Beatles - Capitol T 2047. I "believe" this album is actually Un-Played as it was discovered around 1982 when I attended the going out of business sale on one of the very last days the Two Guys Department Store in Middletown New Jersey would be open. I was fortunate that on the day there, the record department was being dismantled. A decent size cache of records by a number of different artists were discovered that fell between, and also behind, a number of the display cases and stands that had been in place over the many years the store was in business. I bought this Beatles Lp and a couple of others. I've Never played this album as I already had a copy of it, so it's been sitting in my record library in a plastic slipcase ever since it's discovery. The record is in M- condition and is graded this way as on Side 1, if held at the proper angle under a bright light, there is a very light thin mark around the 8:00 to 9:00 position on side 1 about the last three tracks. I believe it would be referred to as a sleeve mark and was probably made when manufactured and then slid into the Capitol paper sleeve. Side 1 out-groove has A 3 in the trail-off after the LP number. Side 2 out-groove has A 1 in the trail-off after the LP number. As I believe a Beatles Fan can tell where this is manufactured by the code on the back bottom right cover, the number there is 2. The LP Cover I would grade as VG++ But it is graded this way and not higher for 2 Reasons. First Reason the top left corner of the LP cover from the second "E" in MEET appears to have a moisture mark which then angles off left to the spine of the cover to the area of John's ear. The cover slick in this left area does have a few bubbles under it and somewhat of a wave to it. The back of the cover in that area does not have any bubbles under the back slick paper but has a slight wave and that small back area is about a shade or so off than the rest of the rest of the white paper on the back. Since "Two Guys" did not have the practice of Shrink-Wrapped LPs around 1964 as some other stores like Sears Roebuck did, there is a Price Code Stamp of "A" on the top right corner of the back cover in red. The Second Reason for downgrading the cover from any higher than VG++ is when I purchased it, I saw there was a paper split at the center of the spine and foolishly put a longer piece of tape over that area so the paper wouldn't split more. Unfortunately, the glue on the tape dried out, fell off, but left a mark on the spine from the remnants of the dry glue. The top and bottom seam are intact and don't appear to have wear. Any questions on the LP or any codes I've missed just send a message and will be glad to respond.
