Description

In 1926 Alexandr Vertinsky ,

the Russian singer, tenor, recorded a song called 'Dorogoy dlinnoyu'

(Along the long road/ By the long way), it was issued probably 1932..33 in England.

The music was composed by Boris Fomin

and lyrics were written by the poet Konstantin Podrevsky.

In 1968, Gene Raskin wrote English lyric for the song,

and Mary Hopkin made it a worldwide hit in her rendition, 'THOSE WERE THE DAYS'.

The song on the reverse side is:  Tri Pazscha (The Three Pageboys), lyrics by Nadezhda Teffi.

N= new/ M= like new/ NM= almost like new/ EX++/ EX+/ VG+/ VG/ G (explanation below)


VISUAL GRADE:


N= New sealed

M= Mint, opened but like new with no signs of use

NM= Near mint, almost like new with 2-3 hairlines possible

EX+= Excellent plus, very clean & shiny with little evidence of play or sleeve removal, no scratches

EX= Excellent, some light scuffs/hairlines, light marks

VG+= Very good plus, one or couple of superficial scratches & scuffs (general light wear for Shellac)

VG= Very good, pronounced wear, lack of gloss, numerous scratches, marks & scuffs

G= Good, pronounced wear but possibly still playable


AUDIO GRADE:


M= like new

NM= almost like new, few light pops possible

EX+= very occasional light mild surface noise

EX= light mild surface noise through

VG+= light crackles through

VG= medium surface noise/crackles, but no skips, no jumps

G= high crackles but not overpowered music, no skips, no jumps.
