Description
When I was a young girl growing up in the suburbs of Washington, the very first live music shows I went to were hardcore bands. It was such an exciting thrilling experience for me and changed who I was forever.
We used to go to the 9:30 club for the all ages matinee shows and we had to line up in a very long corridor waiting for the doors to open. I guess we were eager! I saw Minor Threat, Bad Brains, Scream, Government Issue, Iron Cross and I'm sure other bands I've forgotten as it was over 30 years ago. We also went to shows in high schools and VFW halls. The only place I remember buying these records was at a store out in Silver Spring - I think it was connected to Don Zientara - and a place in Georgetown with a condescending jazzbo music nerd that had a little tiny section of Dischord 45s. I can't remember which place I bought this record but it was one of those. It was very exciting for this little 16 year old punk fan to go to this store and buy these records all handmade with their xeroxed lyric.
My fave bands were Minor Threat and Scream and I still LOVE those records, but this little puppy hasn't seen a turntable at least since I moved into this house 1993 so over 20 years. I probably only played it a few times ever. It's time to let it go to someone who REALLY appreciated this music and history. It was a special time.
There is a dog ear in the upper right corner of the sleeve that you can see in the picture. Other than that everything else appears to be pretty close to mint condition. I can see no other flaws. I probably only played it 2 or 3 times. EVER. I kept it always in a plastic sleeve because I was very particular about my records staying nice. I gave it "near mint" because I think it would have to have never been played to qualify for MINT? Am I wrong? I'm not a record collector just a music fan. This is DST No. 1 and Dischord No 10 7/8
