Description
Mega-rare copy of this live University jazz band competition album from 1956. The contest was held at Leeds University and featured legendary saxophonist Dick Heckstall-Smith’s first jazz band from Cambridge University (who were the eventual competition winners). Dick signed the record sleeve for a friend after a gig at Wood Green, London, in the mid-1970’s (needless to say he was very surprised to see this album!).
Sleeve VG+ Front laminated. In really good shape for its age. Light rubbing and some laminate-lift.
Labels Ex+ Very clean with no marks or writing. Light spindle traces only.
Inner VG- Original polythene bag. Rather creased.
Record Visually Ex to Ex+, nice shine to the vinyl. No marks seen in normal light.. Fully play-tested and sounds really good, clear and well-defined audio with only very minor crackle to be heard in the quieter passages.
