James Lavelle is keen to assert that this is "not the new Unkle album", but rather a collection of tracks completed since War Stories was dusted off. The disc is themed around Unkle's audio-visual projects, "inspired by the moving image" as Lavelle would have it, ranging from songs that have been featured on TV or in film - for example the Abel Ferrara documentary Odyssey In Rome, or the tracks that have cropped up on various trailers and adverts. Thinking about it, you do hear a lot of Unkle via TV; you can barely make it through an episode of Top Gear without copping an earful of these guys. As is always the case with Unkle releases, End Titles is not without its guest spots. Black Mountain and White Denim's James Petralli are among the new contributors (who come in addition to the likes of Josh Homme and Chris Goss), plus Abel Ferrara himself contributes a spirited vocal to a version of 'Open Up Your Eyes'. The album flows along, sounding at times like a continuous mix, but there's a great deal of diversity to the content here, and End Titles really does have that 'imaginary soundtrack' feel.
