OAK records actetate - Ship Of Comfort b/w Halfway Home Condition: Fair
Here we have an acetate on the legendary Oak label. The artist is not stated and I have been unable to discover any information about the two tracks. To my ears, they sound like they were recorded in the mid to late sixties. As you will hear from the player attached, the condition is not great, with heavy background noise and a few skips here and there when played on my USB deck (thankfully only one of these skips is present when the record is played on my Project turntable).
Nevertheless, the quality of the songwriting shines through on both tracks and the vocalist sounds distinctly familiar (early Procol Harum, perhaps?). If anyone has any idea who might be behind the tracks, I'd be glad to hear about it.
As stated in the title, this acetate is unlisted on the online Oak discography, so could quite possibly be a one off. In that case, you are bidding on a unique piece of 1960s British music history.
