Description
Here's a terrific, unreleased soul track on acetate entitled "Ain't Nothin Too Good for My Baby," recorded at Bell Sound Studios sometime in the 1960s. It's a girl group performing a classy midtempo Northern soul number. The only info I can find is a 1969 songwriters' copyright of a tune by the same title, credited to Bob Crewe and Herb Bernstein, but this sounds like it must have been recorded several years earlier. Crewe and Bernstein are known to have worked with a few female soul singers, including Vala Reegan and Lanie Hill, though I can't confirm that the lead voice on this record is either of them. The disc is in excellent condition and most likely was only played once or twice, decades ago, before I made the mp3 below. Have a listen: ?
