Unused EMITT RHODES "Emitt Rhodes" Vinyl LP from 1970 Cut-out

• You are bidding on one unused copy of The EMITT RHODES stereo album "Emitt Rhodes" on 12 inch vinyl. This is Emitt Rhodes' first album for Dunhill; he recorded it in his basement, playing and recording all instruments and vocals long before "home recording" became practical and common. This LP is a cut-out and NOT a first pressing. Note that the track list on the back of the jacket does not match the record. Produced by Emitt Rhodes and Harvey Brooks.

  This is an essential 70's pop/rock album with no filler tracks.

• The LP and jacket is USED but in very good condition; we believe the disc is unplayed. (See grading legend below). The disc is considered Excellent (EX) and is not warped. There are some light marks on both sides that are not expected to be audible; no scratches on either side. The jacket is Excellent (EX): There are two small cut-out holes on the top right and the bottom left. The jacket has no ring wear on either side and little wear on the edges or corners. The fold is slightly worn on the top and bottom. No creases or bends in the cardboard. The inner sleeve is special to the album and in good condition; there is a two inch break on one side and the bottom. The pictures below are of the actual item.

  Although it probably wasn't meant as such, this self-titled album is Emitt Rhodes' definitive statement. Soon after disbanding the Merry-Go-Round (of "Live" fame), Rhodes scored a solo deal with Dunhill. Rather than recording with a band or using studio musicians (which he did with his first "solo" album American Dream), the multi-instrumentalist decided to build a small, primitive home studio and record the entire affair there, "At Home." The results are, in a word, staggering. Tracks such as "With My Face on the Floor," "Someone Made For Me," and the entire album as a whole showcase Rhodes' genius, and in the end, the songs are probably what most Beatles-maniacs wanted to hear from Paul McCartney's debut album. Rhodes' individuality shines through despite this; the album is a true classic of the period.
