Description
Uriah Heep’s debut album from 1970 presented here in reasonably good condition on the larger Vertigo swirl label. Matrices are 1Y//1 v 420 115(or could be 113!) 2Y//1 v 420 111, almost certainly a first pressing.This is a good playing copy which does have some minor faults, but will do fine until that mint copy comes along!
Sleeve – VG Laminated gatefold. Some exposure to damp in the past has caused a ‘waving’ effect to the card but is not serious. The spine is mostly readable but there are scuffs to each corner.The inner gatefold is very clean but one small surface patch has torn off and become stuck to the opposite side (see photo).
Labels – VG+ There are some intitials written on Side 2. Plenty of spindlewear evident but the labels are still very clean.
Inner sleeve - Fair condition only. Original Vertigo swirl bag, but it is missing its polythene inner and is torn.
Record – Visually VG- Lots of light sleeve removal hairlines and small marks seen under a strong light but generally very presentable. Playback is also VG-, no sticks or jumps and clean & sharp audio generally. However there is crackle throughout and some light distortion on ‘Come Away Melinda’.
I grade all records strictly using the 'Record Collector' guide.
