Description
Original copy (with UNCENSORED sleeve) of this 1984 landmark compilation LP DEATH METAL on Noise records.RARE!!!! With exclusive Hellhammer tracks.Vinyl is VG+++ with a few very delicate paperscuffs. Sleeve is vg- with shelfwear around the edges & spine & a small mark on the front cover where the price sticker used to be.
1. RUNNING WILD - Iron Heads RUNNING WILD still have a strong NWOBHM influence in 1984, sounding a bit like early SATAN on this track. Later featured as bonus track on the '99 edition of the "Masquerade" CD. 2. RUNNING WILD - Bones To Ashes This one shows more of their future signature sound, particularly in the gang vocal chorus. Later featured as bonus track on the '99 edition of the "Masquerade" CD. 3. HELLHAMMER - Revelations Of Doom First release from these legends, and pretty much what you'd expect from them. 4. HELLHAMMER - Messiah More VENOM worship. Both HELLHAMMER tracks are included as bonus tracks on most reissues of Apocalyptic Raids.Side B: 1. DARK AVENGER - Black Fairies If it weren't for the nasally vocals, these guys could have competed with the other German power metal greats. 2. DARK AVENGER - Lords Of The Night This track is even better so it's a shame they never released anything else. 3. HELLOWEEN - Oernst Of Life HELLOWEEN's very first release is a great speed metal number that would not have been out of place on their debut EP. Later featured on the '06 2CD edition of "Walls Of Jericho". 4. HELLOWEEN - Metal Invaders Demo version that is neither better nor worse than the album version. I do like the chants of "mayhem" at the end. Later featured on the '06 2CD edition of "Walls Of Jericho".
