Exploiting Plastic Inevitable #1

For those, like me, who dig the quirky but inspired mix of sounds found on the Prae-Kraut Pandemonium series, Exploiting Plastic Inevitable (great title!) is just so essential. Selections are sprouted from the same grey matter but the sphere has been widened to encompass the whole globe.

Volume One has everything from Japanese R&B (the Tempters' nutty "Boom Boom") to Argentinian pop-psych (The Walkers' Beatlesque "19.8") and strange Turkish delights (Mogollar's raga-beat flipout "Hard Work"). In between there's some excellent obscurities from Greece, Chile, Peru and Hong Kong (Danny Diaz & the Checkmates doing a most rippin' version of the Easybeats' "She's So Fine").

I imagine most readers this side of the Atlantic already have the Guess Who's "Clock On The Wall," but who'd have guessed the psychedelic splendour of "Jigsaw" by Dr West's Medicine Show and Junk Band?.
