 V/A “Music of Viet Nam” LP (Folkways, 1966/USA ORIGINAL!!)

Raw field recordings are the order of the day on this rare and collectible compilation of tribal music, traditional and folk songs (as the front cover puts it). Fantastic stuff all around, but my favorites are definitely the short instrumentals showcasing various native instruments. You can hear several in the soundclip…some are almost psychedelic sounding! Very cool LP.

Condition: Record and sleeve are both VG. It is an ex-library copy, so there is wear evident, but it’s actually not that bad. The library catalogue card has been removed from the front of the sleeve with care, though you can still see the remains of the glue from where it was. There are some pops and scuffs throughout, but they’re not bad. Finally, there are stamps and a sticker on the center label. All in all, not too shabby for something from a library. Unfortunately there is no booklet included. Check the sound clip and photos for full details.
