VVAA "L'europa cavalca urn toro near" LP issued by Record Executive (A-083) in Italy, 1974. ******Rec:m / Cov:m (still sealed) ****** Sutitled "Anti-fascism in avant-garde poetry" this anthology features the most advanced poems by italian Group 63, with music (both electronic and instrumental) by Vittorio Gelmetti. The anthology was curated by Henri Chopin's close friend Adriano Spatola (also publisher of the historical Baobab cassette series). Balestrini uses a collage of literary elements creating a fragmentary reading. Pagliarani reports the desperate conditions of a worker in the Siemens factory, underlined by electronic music. Spatola poem is made of compressed rage ready to explode against the normalization of life. Celli poetry is much more surreal using hallucinating metaphors to describe a total biological crisis. The Porta track is conceived like ballad where a cynical reportage becomes more and more anguishing. Giuliani multi-track poetry is made of question and answers on everyday life. The selection of poets also includes Corrado Costa (also published on Polyphonix LP anthology on Cramps Records), visual and sound poetry artist Lamberto Pignotti, Sanguineti and Beltramelli from Gruppo 63 (the first poetical avant garde movement in Italy), Guglielmi and Vivaldi. Great electronic music by Vittorio Gelmetti as well as expressionistic instrumentals.
