Description

Mid-60s UK girl group/Northern Soul-style single that was briefly issued on the R G Jones studio’s famous Oak label (catalogue number RGJ160) before being picked up and reissued by HMV in August 1965.  It would appear that, in order to promote the release, HMV used unsold copies of the Oak pressing and sent them to radio stations/music papers in this promo-only paste-on picture sleeve (back cover is blank), which has a great photo of the singer but unfortunately spells the A-side title incorrectly!

 

As can be seen from the scans, both sides of the disc have a promo sticker as well as another sticker that has printed details of the forthcoming HMV release.  This remains intact on the B-side, but has been torn off on the A-side, which has caused most of the printed details on the original Oak label to be removed as well.  However, both sides of the single look and play a strong Ex.
