Some words on this issue: VAMPIRES OF DARTMOORE: “Dracula’s Music Cabinet” (Metronome – HLP-10267) (Record: Near Mint/ Jacket: Near Mint). Rare white label promo copy!!! Original German pressing and probably one of the rarest releases on the German Metronome label. Perfect copy with no flaws or defects whatsoever. Lamination intact, vinyl hardly been played, next to impossible to upgrade on this one. This disc here is a major rare one on the big horizon of vintage soundtrack obscurities: As early 1969 B-movie psychedelic exploito-cum soundtracks go, it doesn't get any better than this one. The music consists of a totally transfixing collection of groovy psychedelia that incorporates elements of Krautrock, Jazz, Freak-beat and Easy Listening and molds it all together into a lethal brew of absolute high-octane sound weirdness. The whole affair has all the right sonic elements to make this 1969 release into a butt-shaking psychedelic groove wonder: horn section going berserk and flashing from Soft Rock sleaze into classic funk vibrations, butt-shaking groovy bass lines, freaky electronic effects popping up out of nowhere and titillating your earlobes, vibraphone abuse, fuzzed out guitar dementia, cheap Hammond organ riffage, distorted strings & things, all injected and spiked up to smithereens with shitloads of absurd background vocals & noises such as girlie vocal shrieks, monster screams and sleazy ecstatic hissing and breathing sounds. Vampires of Dartmoore was a German band who purportedly made library records, and they intended 'Dracula's Music Cabinet' to be an 'imaginary movie soundtrack, an album rumored to be coming from the same fetid tomb as the legendary Vampiros Lesbos – aka Sexadelic soundtrack could only really be seven shades of awesome and it doesn't disappoint. Exhaustingly psychedelic from the off, the record explodes in a burst of horns, breaks and echo-chamber vocals. Sequenced and envisioned as an 'OST', the tracks move with an enviable narrative, jumping in and out of graves, chambers and the beds of undead harlots. I would challenge you to find a more purely bonkers psychedelic record that kept the same amount of coherence as 'Dracula's Music Cabinet - it's just that good. You shouldn't need much more convincing - go on, you know you want to. Ace. Totally mental. Genuinely rare, as copies upon its release bombed majorly, making it now a tough one to come by, especially in such virginal and pristine condition as this one. Totally wicked!!!

Our grading scale: Mint/ Near Mint/ Excellent/ VG++/. We don’t sell anything below VG++. VG++ grade is basically that the record has some scuffs and has wear. Excellent: record has hardly no visible defects and is preserved with care and attention, the condition most collectors take pride in to file away. Near Mint: a dash below mint, just perfect.
