IN 1969 THIS ALBUM WAS ONLY EVER ISSUED IN THE USA, ALTHOUGH SOME COVERS WERE PRINTED IN THE UK AT THE TIME.   THIS IS AN ORIGINAL USA ISSUE FROM OVER 45 YEARS AGO PERSONALLY IMPORTED BY ME.

THIS WAS THE BAND'S DEBUT ALBUM – 1969 MERCURY SR-61238 STEREO.

IT IS THE RAREST AND EARLIEST EDITION CONTAINING THE TRACK "GIANT SQUID" WHICH WAS VERY SOON REPLACED BY "NECROMANCER" ALTHOUGH THE LATER IS LISTED ON BOTH THE COVER AND THE LABEL.    The notes on the rear list the composers and include “Giant Squid” – an error which continues on later (Vertigo) issues.

THIS DISC HAS BEEN IN MY PERSONAL POSSESSION FROM NEW (over 40 years) AND HAS NOT BEEN PLAYED FOR AT LEAST 25 YEARS (since the introduction of CD’s).

CONDITION : DISC (NEAR MINT/EXCELLENT)

THE DISC HAS ONLY A FEW ULTRA FAINT (BARELY VISIBLE) SURFACE MARKS.

THE DISC IS VERY CLOSE TO IT’S ORIGINAL CONDITION WITH CLEAN LABELS AND ANY SPINDLE WEAR IS NOT VISIBLE TO THE NAKED EYE.

CONDITION : COVER (VERY GOOD)

THE HEAVY WEIGHT CARDBOARD COVER IS VERY CLEAN WITH TWO SMALL HOLES PUNCHED IN THE TOP RIGHT HAND CORNER (FOR EXPORT REASONS).    EASY TO READ SPINE DETAILS NO CREASES, WRITING, RIPS (Except for a 4” crack/split starting to appear along the bottom edge and a 2” section on the top edge where the printed cover is starting to crack), REPAIRS OR STAINING.   TWO OF THE CORNERS ARE SLIGHTLY DENTED.   THE COLOUR IS STILL VIBRANT HAVING BEEN STORED AWAY FROM DIRECT SUNLIGHT.

THE ORIGINAL PLAIN WHITE INNER SLEEVE IS INCLUDED (MINT)

Very rarely seen on eBay.   An ideal opportunity to add a fine and much sort after rare vintage album to your collection.   It is bound to rise in value!

RECORD GRADINGS : MY GRADINGS ARE BASED ON A VISUAL INSPECTION USING THE UK RECORD COLLECTORS GRADING SYSTEM AS BELOW:

MINT: The record itself is in brand new condition with no surface marks or deterioration in sound quality. Cover is pristine. All inserts are included and are in perfect condition. (Applies mainly to brand new items or sealed)

NEAR MINT: Vinyl and cover are virtually like new. Possibly played very carefully one or two times at most.

EXCELLENT: The record shows some signs of having been played, but there is very little lessening in sound quality. The cover and packaging might have slight wear and/or creasing.

V.G +: The record will still be nice and shiny, but may visually have a few light marks/scuffs but will play well with occasional pop/click. Some wear and tear on the cover. (This will still be a decent playable copy).

V.G: The record has obviously been played many times, but displays no major deterioration in sound quality, despite noticeable surface marks and occasional light scratch. Normal wear and tear on the cover or extra items without any major defects is acceptable.

GOOD: The record has been played so much that the sound quality has noticeably deteriorated, perhaps with some distortion and mild scratches. The cover and contents suffer from folding, scuffing of edges, spine splits, discolouration etc.

FAIR: The record is just about playable but has not been cared for properly and displays considerable surface noise. It may even jump. The cover and contents will be torn stained and/or defaced.
