H to He, Who Am the Only One is the third album by the British progressive rock band Van der Graaf Generator. It was released in 1970.

During the recording of the album, Nic Potter quit the band. Organist Hugh Banton offered to play bass guitar on the two tracks that had not yet been finished. In concert, Banton would play bass pedals to substitute for the lack of a bassist. H to He, Who Am the Only One also featured Robert Fripp of King Crimson playing lead guitar on one track.

The album contains several references to modern physics: "H to He" in the title refers to "the fusion of hydrogen nuclei to form helium nuclei"; c in 'Pioneers over c.' refers to the speed of light.

The absolute rarity of this album is not to be underestimated. Rarer even than Pawn Hearts on the Scroll label. It hardly ever surfaces nowadays. This has a lovely deep glossy sheen!! Hauntingly beautiful songcraft!!! Immense quality prog album that ticks all the right boxes and incredibly hard to find. I have twenty five years experience in grading. It doesn't get much better than this!

BACK IN 1970 WHEN THIS LP WAS FIRST RELEASED, IT ONLY EVER SOLD IN ABSOLUTELY TINY AMOUNTS - AND WAS ALMOST IMMEDIATELY DELETED!!!!  AS A RESULT IT IS SERIOUSLY RARE AND INCREDIBLY HARD TO LOCATE TODAY!!!!

!!!!A VERY HARD FIND!!! Most have been bought up by collectors!! This is hardly offered these days!!

Vinyl: EX.  A sensational find indeed!!! I have played this in full on my Linn Sondek/Rotel/B&W set up. I first played for a general listen and a second time for a more detailed observation. The replay was astounding and unrivalled by any other press. Only a true first press will supply that aural depth the true music enthusiast is looking for. Just listen to "Killer" and be blown away!!!  For me this is essential prog like Gentle Giant, King Crimson etc.  I am very glad to be able to report that this is a fine slab of vinyl without any problems at all and as such worthy of inclusion in any great prog collection. There are NO scratches or hairlines. Just the paper retraction traces when observed under an intense light source. Of course NO jumps/clicks/skips.

Gatefold Sleeve:  EX.  A great copy!!! One of the hardest sleeves to find in an acceptable condition. The sleeve is matt and the overall colour is a deep dark blue. In 95% of all cases for this sleeve the spine will be rubbed and unreadable. NOT THIS COPY!! The spine is still fully legible and the wear on the top and bottom edges is only modest. To the rear there is a small crease near the top left. The inside gatefold is EX++. Actually impossible to find without some degree of wear, this is one of the absolute top copies out there!!This sleeve will wear by simply looking at it. Please look at the pics. This is highly elusive indeed and will prove quite hard to better. Such a clean overall copy is rare and will not come again soon, make no mistake!!! The inner sleeve is the original blue printed polylined one in EX condition.OF COURSE NO WRITING, NO TEARS  and NO SPLITS ETC.
