H to He, Who Am the Only One is the third album by the British progressive rock band Van der Graaf Generator. It was released in 1970.

During the recording of the album, Nic Potter quit the band. Organist Hugh Banton offered to play bass guitar on the two tracks that had not yet been finished. In concert, Banton would play bass pedals to substitute for the lack of a bassist. H to He, Who Am the Only One also featured Robert Fripp of King Crimson playing lead guitar on one track.

The album contains several references to modern physics: "H to He" in the title refers to "the fusion of hydrogen nuclei to form helium nuclei"; c in 'Pioneers over c.' refers to the speed of light.

The absolute rarity of this album is not to be underestimated. Rarer even than Pawn Hearts on the Scroll label. It hardly ever surfaces nowadays. This has a lovely deep glossy sheen!! Hauntingly beautiful songcraft!!! Immense quality prog album that ticks all the right boxes and incredibly hard to find.

!!!!AN IMPOSSIBLE FIND!!A few hundred of the LP were ever sold on the pink scroll label!!! This is SOOOOOOOOOOO very rare!!!!!

BACK IN 1970 WHEN THIS LP WAS FIRST RELEASED, IT ONLY EVER SOLD IN ABSOLUTELY TINY AMOUNTS AND WAS NEVER GOING TO FEATURE THE CHARTS BEING VERY INACCESSIBLE FOR MOST PEOPLE - AND WAS ALMOST IMMEDIATELY DELETED!!!!  AS A RESULT IT IS SERIOUSLY RARE AND INCREDIBLY HARD TO LOCATE TODAY!!!!

!!!!A VERY HARD FIND!!! Most have been bought up by collectors!! This is hardly offered these days!!

Vinyl: VG+ to EX.  A sensational find!!! I have played this in FULL twice over> NO noticable hairlines, NO scratches I first played for a general listen and a second time for a more detailed observation. Spindle traces on the labels indicate that the album has been played moderately but definitely been cared for as there are no hairlines. Just listen to "Killer" and be blown away!!!  For me this is essential prog like Gentle Giant and early Yes. Peter Hammill was one of the most important composers of the 70's onwards. I am very glad to be able to report that this is a fine slab of vinyl without any problems at all and as such worthy of inclusion of any great prog collection. Of course NO jumps/clicks/skips,  just a small amount of background noise at times which most of the time is easily masked by the powerful music.

Gatefold Sleeve: VG+.  A great copy!!! Impossible to find without some degree of wear. This sleeve will wear by simply looking at it especially being matt and a dark navy main colour. This has wear to the top and bottom edges from storage. Please look at the pics. The spine is fully legible. Just one tiny crease near the top corner of the sleeve !!! A genuine original with the B&C publishing credits and ‘patents pending’ text (please see close up). To the rear in the corner some white scuff streaks. This is highly elusive indeed and will prove extremely hard to find. Such a clean overall copy is rare and will not come again soon, make no mistake!!! OF COURSE NO WRITING, NO TEARS  and NO SPLITS ETC.

***A very nice used album and very hard to still find this late in the day. Finding this album in any condition at all is nearly impossible!!! This is  a great and seriously collectable super album!!  You will buy into a piece of  prog core history.***

             This is a unique investment opportunity!!! The next psych album to go completely through the roof. Finding this album in any condition at all is nearly impossible so late in the day. Get this while you still can. This value of the album is only going to go one way ... up and up ... until it will be totally unavailable at all for a reasonable price.
