Description

This is a fine copy from an early 1970s pressing of the third LP by British progressive group Van der Graaf Generator.  This copy has the black labels of the early releases, and like the original 1970 pressing, it doesn't include the date of release on the labels, though its runout matrices don't match those of the only regular 1970 pressing listed in Discogs.  Since Discogs isn't an exhaustive source, I'm inclined to say this copy is from a 1970 pressing, but I can positively say that it was released sometime between 1970 and 1973 (when the label switched to the yellow labels).  As for the record's odd title, a note at the bottom of the front cover points out that the fusion of hydrogen nuclei into helium nuclei in stars represents "the prime energy source in the universe."  As H and He are the chemical symbols for these two elements, H to He refers in the first place to this chemical reaction.  For the rest, you're on your own.  The gatefold jacket has a 3” split in the bottom seam, but is otherwise all but M- with light ring wear and staining, and light corner and top seam wear (EX-).  The disc has some light scuffing and dings, and plays with light surface noise and some light pops at the start of side 2, track 2 -- EX(-).  The record comes with the original label inner sleeve.

I’m in the process of selling off a large personal collection amassed over two decades. All discs have been stored in plastic lined inner sleeves separate from their sleeves. The sleeves have been stored in plastic sleeves. I have play graded discs except where otherwise noted.
