SUPERB SECOND UK ALBUM. This is the original first press. Really nice copy of the absolute FIRST PRESSING of this seminal prog classic from 1970. It went totally under the radar but this is a latter day classic!!! Sold zilch on first issue, only a couple of thousand  copies of this earliest press, get it while you still can as this is super rare in any condition!! The labels are of course of the earliest Pink Scroll variety.

Brief Artist & Album Info: ‘H to He’ was the third album and another progressive classic. Fronted by the fairly eccentric and intense vocalist Peter Hammill, VDGG made some of the most complex and inspired sounds of the early to mid-70s. David Jackson, the saxophonist often played two simultaneously creating a mesmerising sound and often an amazing racket. These electric reeds were heavily treated and made the dual saxes sound more like eight! Musically complex using constantly changing time structures and like fellow progsters, King Crimson their albums have great highs and lows in volume. This album preceded the legendary Pawn Hearts, and for me it is totally on par with that classic. A marvellous original band that were under-appreciated at the time, but adored by the few (myself included) – Hammill remains one of rock’s great exponents of originality and mildishly extreme. This copy on offer plays superbly, as near as I dare suggest for one of the most difficult ‘vinyl’ bands. Always delighted (when possible) to be able to state this. The problems I have heard and encountered with early Charisma records, especially the pink scroll label pressings, make them a lottery. Even mint, barely played examples can hide the most horrendous pressing noises and distortion – simply pressing flaws that cannot be seen but certainly can be heard. So it is always with a certain trepidation I play even the finest looking copies. Well this one failed to disappoint and offers the most powerful, detailed and cleanest sound I have heard for some considerable time. No pressing noises and barely any crackle, simply top quality audio sound and powerful dynamics that all remain focused and precise. It will be an awful long time before the next one will come along with again more takers than before, this is rare with a capital R.

The absolute rarity of this album is not to be underestimated. It hardly ever surfaces nowadays. 

You won't easily find this ultra rare LP !!! It is a genuinely very scarce item on the Pink Scroll label that will shoot up in price. Get it while you still can!

!!!!A VERY HARD FIND!!! Most have been bought up by collectors!! This is hardly offered these days!!

In all my years this is only the third time I have come across this PROG MONSTER as a 1st press. Sensational sound quality, I have played this through in its entirety and it was a great joy!!! NO skips or jumps. NO clicks or crackle, this is really a stunning heavy glossy jet black vinyl .The audio is impeccable. Inspected under an intense light source and angled.

Vinyl: VG+/EX .   I have played this in FULL twice over> fantastic audio, a joy to listen to!! This is the true official 1st press with earliest "G" mother stampers.  I first played for a general listen and a second time for a more detailed observation. A couple of tiny hairlines on side A and one very wispy one on side B. These are only detectable under a strong lightsource.  This vinyl retains its fabulous deep glossy sheen and has been looked after. A great vinyl!! Fantastic song craft!! Clearly, this vinyl has not been played much and is in great condition. I am very glad to be able to report that this is a fine slab of vinyl without any problems at all and as such worthy of inclusion of any great prog collection.  A very early original shop sticker on side A and a name on tape. Of course NO jumps/clicks/skips etc.

Gatefold sleeve:  VG+.  Beautiful "Garrod & Lofthouse Ltd." sleeve without too much wear, very remarkable for this matt sleeve that is surely very vulnerable especially considering the large dark navy fields. Definitely one of the better ones without any damage or splits etc. Storage wear on the edges and the spine is only partially (50%) legible. Small spinal creases only and some creasing near the opening. The front top right has a cat. sticker with a name. Please have a good look at the pics, they say more than a thousand words. NO seam splits , NO writing.
