So, so hard to find, VDGG's all time first classic album and here it is where it all came together from start to finish although the predecessor was awesome in its own right!! Splendid maniacal existential prog album in great EX condition!! This is grandeur from the first note till the very. For me it is at least on par if not better than "Pawn Hearts".  I am very happy to be able to present this fantastic and ULTRA rare album . This will be a great first acquisition as well as a terrific upgrade!!! Splendid maniacal existential prog album.

"Though their next album, "Pawn Hearts", is my favorite VdGG album, this one is the one that I return most often too. With one of the greatest songs opening the album the music slips deeper into claustrophobic darkness as the album progresses, builiding on one main conceptual theme - isolation. The contrast between haunting beauty and madness is really remarkable here and creates a very unique mood to it all. The bleak and haunting mood of the music really relates to Peter Hammill's lyrics, making for an intense and subtly unnerving listening experience that is hugely rewarding in the end, something that the band continued doing (for an even more frightening effect) on their next album. This is done superbly on tracks like "Emperor in his War-Room" and the closing epic "Pioneers Over C." especially. This is definitely one of my favorite albums both musically and conceptually and should be listened to on headphones, alone in the middle of the night for best effect. THE STEREO REPRODUCTION IS SUPERB AND EVERY NOTE IS HEARD CLEARLY AND CRISPLY WITHOUT DISTORTION.  THERE IS MILD STATIC IN PLACES. NEEDLESS TO SAY, NO STICKS OR JUMPS!

Gatefold sleeve: EX. This is the original gatefold sleeve without any creases or writing. The spine is fully legible with just light storage wear and overall the sleeve is in lovely shape without anything untoward. It has only light storage wear mainly on the top and bottom edge. This is a matt sleeve and always a very hard one to find in reasonable condition. NO creases, NO tears, NO writing etc. The inside gatefold is NM. This is definitely well above average and an upgrade for most prog collectors.

Vinyl: EX. Fantastic classic by VDGG and stands proud next to their other two classics which are of equal quality musically speaking. It retains a nice gloss and plays throughout without any faults. There are no marks or hairlines. Just some wispy retraction paper traces from taking the vinyl out of the inner sleeve, these are only visible under a strong light source. This is the very first press on the pink scroll label and as such a very heavy vinyl. Needless to say NO jumps, sticks, clicks or ticks. This will be a fantastic upgrade for most long time collectors!!

This is a unique investment opportunity!!! The next prog album to go completely through the roof. Finding this album in any condition at all is nearly impossible so late in the day. Get this while you still can. This value of the album is only going to go one way ... up and up ... until it will be totally unavailable at all for a reasonable price.
