VAN DER GRAAF GENERATOR : PAWN HEARTS FIRST PRESS LP WITH VERY RARE INSERT

Original First Press of this Progressive Rock classic, vinyl is beautifully clean and shiny. Complete with original plain inner sleeve and the insert lyric sheet.

Visually I would grade the vinyl Excellent -. Looks like it has had very few plays. Stunning clear sound with no discernible distortion. Side A plays through really well without skipping or sticking, some minor clicks (4 in total) on the first track Lemmings (One offs not repeated). Overall would play grade it at Excellent -. Side B plays through very well with a little minor crackle noticeable during the start of Plague of Lighthouse Keepers and in some of this songs quieter sections. Would play grade this side as Very Good. As you will appreciate this record has a number of very quiet passages where any tiny imperfections in the pressing are noticeable and manifest as minor clicks. There are a couple of sections where you may hear a few minor clicks in succession. 

In summary a really great example of an extremely rare first press record and complete with the hard to find lyric inner that only came with a limited number of 1st Press copies. Soft card gatefold sleeve in very good condition, no unwanted pen marks or writing. Some very minor scuffs to corners. Spine has little wear. Inner gatefold very good print condition but some warping to the inner section due to storage. B&C Records credit made by E J Day Group. Excellent Charisma pink scroll labels, no writing and very few obvious spindle marks. Original inner sleeve is in very good condition. Supplied with Nagaoka No. 102 Anti Static Sleeve and Polythene Outer Sleeve.

The insert is in excellent condition with no unwanted writing on printed side, a few minor darker sections and some very minor creases. One 0.5cm tear on edge only but no missing sections. Some minor browning to the back of the insert but no writing. 

GRADING: All records are graded using the standard UK Record Collector Grading system as follows:

MINT: The record itself is in brand new condition with no surface marks or deterioration in sound quality. The cover and any extra items such as the lyric sheet, booklet or poster are in perfect condition. Records advertised as Sealed or Unplayed should be Mint.

EXCELLENT: The record shows some signs of having been played, but there is very little lessening in sound quality. The cover and packaging might have slight wear and / or creasing.

VERY GOOD: The record has obviously been played many times, but displays no major deterioration in sound quality, despite noticeable surface marks and the occasional light scratch. Normal wear and tear on the cover or extra items, without any major defects, is acceptable.

GOOD: The record has been played so much that the sound quality has noticeably deteriorated, perhaps with some distortion and mild scratches. The cover and contents suffer from folding, scuffing of edges, spine splits, discolouration, etc.

FAIR: The record is still just playable but has not been cared for properly and displays considerable surface noise; it may even jump. The cover and contents will be torn, stained and / or defaced.

POOR: The record will not play properly due to scratches, bad surface noise, etc. The cover and contents will be badly damaged or partly missing.

BAD: The record is unplayable or might even be broken, and is only of use as a collection filler. 

All my records are sent out in new cruciform heavy weight corrugated mailers with stiffeners as required.
