I'm all for free speech but if I were the editor of Record Collector, or MOJO, or whatever, I would by now have clamped down on use of the phrase 'achingly beautiful'. Everything these days seems to be achingly something or other. Achingly sad, achingly this, achingly that. Journalists have so achingly overused the phrase it no longer has any meaning. This is what I would decree, were I editor of Record Collector or MOJO:

Rant over, here is a fine original UK stereo copy of the achingly beautiful Pawn Hearts by Van Der Graaf Generator on the pink scroll Charisma label from 1971 (CAS 1051). It includes the rare and sought-after lyric insert.
Pawn Hearts is the band's finest achievement and in many people's top albums of all time. Original copies are consequently much sought after, particularly those accompanied by the rare lyric sheet.
This example is in nice condition, as you can see from my photos.
Here is a fine surviving example of a vulnerable unlaminated gatefold sleeve that so often succumbs to ringwear and rough handling. It is strong, not dog-eared and floppy like most, and easily grades VG+. The edges are straight and true and the opening is beautifully strong and unfeathered, indicating little use. The spine too is straight and true while the spinal text is all perfectly readable. There are no rips, tears, unwanted writing or any other signs of abuse; just some slight rubbing at the corners and a little edgewear top and bottom.
The original first pressing vinyl (matrices A-1U/B-1U) has also been well cared for, with only a few light marks (certainly no scratches) showing when examined closely under harsh halogen lighting. The pretty original pink scroll Charisma labels show few signs of spindle activity and certainly no spindle wear. This achingly beautiful record comfortably attains a grade of VG+ and performs achingly well, though like most pink Charisma copies of this LP, there is occasional crackle to be heard during some of the lighter passages (a product of the pressing and nothing to do with the amount of play).
The achingly rare original insert (not a copy) is fully intact with no rips, folds or unwanted writing and shows its 39 years only with a few typical handling marks and a little foxing/soiling on the blank white reverse.
