The definitive VDGG album, titled, so rumour has it, after a stoned David Jackson told the rest of the band "I'll go down to the studio and dub on some more porn hearts" (meaning, obviously some more horn parts). Featuring Lemmings & Man-Erg on side one with the remarkable Plague Of Lighthouse Keepers on side two this is the classic line-up of Peter Hammill, David Jackson, Guy Evans & Hugh Banton joined by Robert Fripp (credited simply as 'Fripp') adding electric guitar on Lighthouse Keepers. Of all the VDGG albums, in my opinion, this one depicts the band as they were live; manic, melodious, intense then lulling you into a false calm before the storm. A friend of mine once commented that watching VDGG live, as I was fortunate enough to do many times in this period, was rather like being hit by a truck whilst on painkillers!

CONDITION:-

SLEEVE: except for some shelf wear on the corners of the spine (as shown in photos) the sleeve is excellent with slight signs of shelf wear with no writing or splits of any sort.

INNER SLEEVE: The original plain white inner sleeve.

LABELS: Excellent condition but a few visible spindle marks.

VINYL: Several wispy lines and a couple of minor marks although nothing which adversely affects playback. This album has been played (by me) on an excellent deck but retains its shiny gloss and sounds great. The are a couple of very light clicks, but generally it sounds superb. 

POSTAGE BY RECORDED DELIVERY & PACKAGED IN PROFESSIONAL RECORD MAILERS WITH STIFFENERS.

On a personal note, I am British and having relocated to Greece I'm forced, reluctantly, to part with my vast record collection in order to finance our charity for stray animals (we feed and provide medicine to over sixty animals every day and need to raise money to keep going). Virtually all albums are UK issues, from the sixties onwards and many are genuine first pressings. Keep an eye out over the next few months as I'll be posting some great albums for sale.
