Van der Graaf Generator - The Least We can Do Is Wave To Each Other 1970 Charisma CAS 1007, +A / +B
Ultra rare 1st mix, with poster
There are 2 completely different mixes of this album, the first of which was withdrawn soon after release. The first Talmy withdrawn mix has no G in the run-out, whilst the remix has a G.
Manager Tony Stratton-Smith was unhappy with John Anthony's production and asked Shel Talmy to remix it. The first pressing of the album was released with Talmy's mix, but the band were unhappy and convinced Charisma to allow Anthony to remix it.
This copy is a superb, rare as hen's teeth, original withdrawn Talmy mix. The record is in superb, clean, excellent condition, with some faint superficial marks visible under light. Audio is near mint, I heard a couple a of episodes of barely audible crackle, but otherwise, no problems. Both lightly textured labels are excellent with very light spindle wear.
The LP comes in it’s original excellent Garrod & Lofthouse Ltd Patents Pending, gate-fold sleeve, showing only very light signs of wear. The poster is in excellent folded condition, with no rips or pin holes. If you have any questions, please ask.
All records are removed from their sleeves and securely packed in strong mailers with cardboard strengtheners.
The record was play tested on a Pro-ject Primary turntable fitted with an Ortofon OM cartridge.
