VAN DER GRAAF GENERATOR “The Least We Can Do Is Wave to Each Other” Prog Psych
1970/German/Philips Records 6369 901….. here’s a rare original German pressing of this rare lp. The fully laminated gatefold cover is in strong Excellent condition with a few short light creases on the outer edges, otherwise the cover is solid and clean with no splits. The vinyl is in VG condition visually with many light whispy hairlines/scuffs/scratches and rubs from the inner sleeve, The record plays through with varying degrees of light noise/crackle/soft ticks, but is drowned out when the music is loud. The record plays through fine with no skips, jumps or sticks and plays through with clean fidelity. This copy includes the Rare original folded poster which has no damage at all. Don't miss this one! The Least We Can Do Is Wave to Each Other is the second album by the British progressive rock band Van der Graaf Generator. It was released in 1970. While this is the second album in the Van der Graaf Generator catalogue, it is really the first proper album by the band. Their previous album,The Aerosol Grey Machine had been written and recorded as a solo record by singer and main songwriter Peter Hammill, but because of a deal with the record company, was released under the Van der Graaf Generator name. The Least We Can Do Is Wave to Each Other was recorded at Trident Studios, London, 11–14 December 1969. Trident was one of the most advanced studios in all of Europe at the time. Most of the album was recorded on an 8-track reel to reel machine. However, the song After The Flood was recorded on a new state of the art 16-track recorder. It was one of the first such 16 track recordings made in the U.K.

GRADING
MINT: I consider only New Unplayed or Sealed items.
NM or M- or Mint Minus is the same to me, very clean with clean visual appearance and sound, there may be a couple of light inaudible hairline scuffs or such and will be mentioned in the listing, a Mint- record looks and plays clean. Same for the cover. Very clean with no delete or other issues.
EXCELLENT: still very collectable for most, visually and sonicly clean. A handful of light inaudible scuffs, or hairlines. Cover will be clean with little wear, or delete. No splits.
VG++ still a very nice copy with minimal wear, the vinyl will retain it's original gloss and can have a few minor scuffs/scratches that don't affect play very much. Cover will have slight shelf wear, and or delete, minor split.
VG+ the vinyl will still retain much original gloss with a bit more scuffs and/or scratches. If I list a rare or desirable item with a lower grade, I will try to list all defects.
