The album was recorded at Trident Studios, London, December 11-14, 1969.
Trident was perhaps the most advanced studio in Europe at the time and the group made good use of the new technology to created a recording of outstanding technical quality.
Most of the album was recorded on an 8-track reel to reel machine. However, the song After The Flood was recorded on the brand new state of the art MM-1000 16-track machine built by Ampex.
This makes it perhaps the first such 16 track recording ever made in the U.K.
The title of the LP is taken from John Minton: "We're all awash in a sea of blood, and the least we can do is wave to each other."

Apart from a tiny touch of low-level surface on some of the quietest moments - nothing really - the set plays beautifully

Very little wear to speak, just a tiny amount of rub on the bottom edge/corner otherwise clean and unmarked

Lovely condition, probably never even opened before my photos with just one soft crease on one corner
