Van Halen released their sixth studio album "1984" in January 1984 on Warner Bros. Records. It was the last album with David Lee Roth who departed the band in 1985 and didn't return until 2012. It was an enormous success selling over 10 million copies and boasting four monster singles including the No. 1 hit "Jump."

This Promo copy of (9 23985-1) is a QUIEX II Limited Edition audiophile First Pressing and is in excellent condition. The cover shows minor wear and is VG+. Please see the pictures. The disc test plays cleanly and is also VG+ which is as high as I go on vintage vinyl. It was mastered at Sheffield Lab Matrix in Santa Monica and was pressed by Allied Record Company in Los Angeles. The Side One dead wax is etched 1-23985-A SH1 Q B-18880-SH1 SLM ?5872 5150 1-1.

In addition to its original packaging, this album will come with a high quality Anti-Static Round Bottom Inner Sleeve to hold the vinyl disc and a sturdy 3 mil. polyethylene Archival Quality Outer Sleeve.

This vintage 12" vinyl album has been sitting upright on a shelf in climate controlled storage for the past 37 years. It has not been played in decades other than a quick test spin for this sale which found no skips or obvious flaws. Like all used records it should be cleaned and wiped with an anti-static brush to minimize the occasional pops that are part of playing vinyl albums. Buyers should note that this is a well-cared for but used record and it will have some minor imperfections.
